Directions:

From the North/East: Route 1 South past Route 202  for 2 miles, then Left at Creek Rd.  Continue on Creek Rd. for 1 ½ miles through the cement gates just before the road makes sharp bend to the right (onto a bridge).  Follow signs to parking (may be different than in years past).  Watch speed bumps (3) on macadam drive.

From the South/West: Route 1 North to Chadds Ford then 100 ft. beyond light turn Right onto Creek Rd. (just beyond the WAWA).  Then proceed as above.

Divisions:     Training and Preliminary VSE’s (under 99 cm)

                     A minimum of 15 pre-entries needed to conduct this event.

                     Classes will be divided as entries warrant

Judge:          Nancy Tomlinson, Frederick, MD.

Entries:        Open September 1st and close September 30, 2006.

Entries are limited to 20 and cannot be accepted without full payment of fees and copy of negative Coggins within 12 months and current BVDC membership.

Fees:            Horse Driving Trial: $75/turnout

Age:             Any driver or navigator under 18 must have signed parental consent.  Drivers under 14 must be accompanied by a knowledgeable adult at all times.

Times:         Available by phone (610)987-3425 from 7-9PM on Thursday 10/26/06 or by e-mail upon request.

Packets:     Will be available from Noon on Saturday, October 28th at the farm.

Miscellaneous:   Pre-ordered lunches will be available by 11:00 AM.  No food will be sold at the farm.  Please bring your own water for drinking and washing/cooling your horse.  Bring & use muck buckets.  Please respect the privacy and premises of adjacent properties.  No horses may be left on the grounds overnight.

Presentation:      Will be on the move during dressage.  

Dressage and Cones:   30 X 60 m dressage arena

                                       Training – Test # 2 1994

                                       Preliminary – Test # 2 1994 (click links for ADS pdf file)

                                       Will be held on the same stone dust/grass field.  Cones will be preset in the arena.  Drivers will  

                                       proceed onto the cones course immediately following their dressage.

 

Dress/Equip:        Low key but correct: whip, gloves, hat, apron

                              Spares kit required.  Contents at the discretion of the driver                                                                 

                              Helmets required for Marathon.

There will be a marathon safety check for all drivers.  Report to the start at least 15 minutes prior to the start of Section A

Marathon Course:     Two sections (A and E) with 3-5 hazards.  No more than 5k at 9 kph.  Terrain is primarily grassy track over rolling hills with some woods.  No official course walk.

 

Inspection:                 Obstacles will be available for inspection from noon on Saturday, October 28, 2006.  Be sure to walk the hazards so that you do not cause holdups for drivers behind you.

This day is planned to be low-key, informal and fun to give everyone the opportunity to learn in a relaxed atmosphere.  Competition will be conducted per ADS Rules.
