The Brandywine Valley Driving
Club is a part of the American Driving Society and, as such, is a part of
the Mid-Atlantic Region. Every year the clubs of the Mid-Atlantic
Region put on a weekend of pleasure driving. The recent Mid-Atlantic
Pleasure Driving was hosted by My Lady Manor's Driving Club. BVDC
sponsored and hosted a recreation of a Breakfast Drive in memory of Mary
Warner Brown, one of the hostesses of the original the breakfast drive . |

The morning of the breakfast dawned cool and bright, an absolute turnaround from days of heat and humidity. A small army of volunteers appeared armed
with hundreds of pounds of food, and equipment. |
Like a well organized assembly line everything fell into place as we awaited the masses..... |
The carriages appeared from several directions traveling the short or long routes...and some just appeared. |
Some got lost, and some had no trouble finding the route. But everyone seemed to have a great time. |
Sausage, egg, and cheese on English muffins, fresh cantaloupe w/huge strawberries... |
...bagels w/cream cheese and a variety of juices, teas, and coffees were available. |
| Many stayed to chat, enjoy the company and the spectacular day. Approximately 150 people were served. |

Then as quickly as it appeared, the army dismantled camp, packed up, and the site was returned to the beauty and peace that is Fair Hill.
