“ Forever  Sunny”

By Sandra M. Philpott

This image of “Forever Sunny” is from an original oil painting by Sandra Philpott.  Sandra has generously allowed the Brandywine Valley Driving Club to use her painting to promote the 16th Annual  Brandywine Carriage Driving Show and it will appear on posters, note cards and giclée prints.

The note cards and giclée prints are now available for sale to support the Carriage Driving Show.  The prints are offered as signed and numbered limited editions of twenty five prints per size and can be ordered either framed or unframed.  The note cards are offered in packages of ten cards with envelopes.

The framing was chosen by the artist, together with the professional framers at the Paper Lion Gallery in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania who do beautiful work. If ordered framed, the print will be tastefully framed in a one and a half inch walnut frame with a three inch (or two inch for the smaller size print) “tumbleweed”,  color single mat (acid free) and protected from UV rays under conservation glass.

A framed giclée print will be on display at the Pleasure Show on June 13th and, if still available, will be offered for sale during the Show.  These are limited editions and only twenty five of each size will be made. The note cards will be available for purchase at the Show, as well.

Prices:

Note cards:  Ten cards and envelopes - $10.00

20x24 inch unframed giclée print (same size of the original oil painting) signed and numbered:  $90.00(plus tax, if applicable)

11x14 inch unframed giclée print signed and numbered:  $40.00 (plus tax, if applicable)

Framing as described above, is offered at cost:

For the 20x24 inch sized print: $165.00 (plus tax, if applicable)

For the 11x14 inch sized print:  $90.00 (plus tax, if applicable)

Shipping:  If requested, prints, either framed or unframed, will be shipped via UPS and the actual cost of the shipping will be charged.  Arrangements can be made to pick up the art work when it is ready from the framer, or it can be available for pick up at the Pleasure Show on June 13th.

Please direct any questions (including verification of tax and shipping charges) and requests for purchases to Margaret Grillet at margaretgrillet@yahoo.com or 302-465-2200.  Checks should be made payable to Brandywine Valley Driving Club, Inc. (“BVDC”) and mailed to Margaret Grillet, 410 Lewisville Road, Lincoln University, PA 19352.

Valley Forge Park Message
From one trail rider to another...

Dear fellow trail riders,

Today I was at V.F.Park & where we park our rigs was cordoned off since the park is using the trailer parking area for an event Sat., 9/26. There are picnic tables & benches set up where we usually park. Another rider told me that the rangers had to remove approx. 12 buckets of manure & straw from that area.

I may be preaching to the choir but that area needs to be cleaned up before we leave so please pass this on & mention it to riders you may see there that don't know. Ditto for when the horses manure on the parking lots/walking paths. There is a weedy/bushy area that we can throw the manure off to the side or bring a muck bucket to transport back to your own manure pile. We do not want to lose this precious riding land.

Please let other riders, clubs & stables know that the park would really appreciate our cleanup efforts. It also keeps the area clean for the next group of riders. I spoke w/ Ernestine White & suggested a sign be put up as a reminder. Thanks & happy trails this fall! Geraldine F. Jacobs -  Mane Line Equine Massage, LLC 610-647-1424 (sent via email 9/25/09)

 Join E-Lines

The Brandywine Valley Driving Club website is pleased to provide a supplemental club news service known as "E-Lines". E-Lines is a members-only service.

To subscribe, send an e-mail with your membership name in the message body to BVDC Membership Chairperson You can click on the e-mail address link to open a blank e-mail page or you can open your email service and send a message to the above address with your membership name in the message body. In the message body, type your name as it appears in the membership directory.

When your name has been validated and you are added to the mailing list, you will receive an e-mail acknowledging your subscription.

Although it is the club's main goal to contact all members via our newsletter and provide new information on the web site, there are times when immediate e-mail contacts are very beneficial.

This is not a "listserv" and therefore does not result in an abundance of e-mails.  Nor can members post to the rest of the members on the list.  However, it is a means by which we can get word out to subscribing members on short notice.

Electronic Newsletter Delivery

All members in good standing receive the club newsletter, "Driving Lines", published monthly.  The club also offers the newsletter electronically as a download from the website.  This is an Adobe Acrobat file about 1 megabyte in size.  Members who elect to receive their newsletter this way will NOT receive a copy through the U.S. Mail but will have access to the newsletter usually several days before the U.S. Mail copy is delivered to others.

To register:  Send an e-mail to BVDC Membership Chairperson in the message body type your name as it appears in the membership directory and click send. When the monthly newsletter is available, download subscribers will receive an e-mail with the link to the download page, at which time the file may be downloaded and saved.
